ARTISAN MADE PRODUCTS

Ellie Cambar is an online store offering unique artisan made accessories.  Select artisans from Honduras and Mexico create hand made accessories  that combine details from Latin America, Asia, Africa and other countries to make unique jewelry, handbags and clothing.

Most of the artisan handbags come from Valle de Angeles, a beautiful small town in Honduras. Located 22 kilometers from the capital city, Tegucigalpa.

Valle de Angeles is part of who I am and where I was born.  Hondurans visit this town as a weekend getaway.  “Valley of Angels”, it is a small town nested between pine covered mountains and green landscapes that almost look like it has been touched by angels.

My passion is to make Valle de Angeles artisans and landscapes known to the world. After living in the United States for 32 years and traveling around the world for more than 20 years, I would like people to know the quality of our handmade products.  Especially the handmade bags, belts and other leather accessories made in Honduras.

Many of the leather products are geared towards the traveling connoisseurs. The products are inspirations from countless trips around the world. The handmade manufacturing details and textiles from around the world, make these products truly unique.

In the future we will be adding silver jewelry and ethnic clothing.  My travels around the world have helped me spot the best products from the most skilled artisans. Only the highest quality silver jewelry and embroidered clothing will be offered.

Most of the silver pieces will come from the town of Taxco, Mexico, a very picturesque town with small paved streets and houses painted in white.  The silver jewelry in this town is known as some of the best in the world.

We will also add embroidered clothing from Mexico, specifically from the areas of Oaxaca and Chiapas.  We will offer modern cotton dresses, skirts, blouses and shorts that will have a   modern touch with handmade embroidery.

I want all the accessories and clothes to bring something unique to the modern woman who likes to travel and explore the world.  Each garment of clothing, handbag and jewelry will tell a story of someplace far away where we all would like to travel.  My idea is to provide the highest quality products for your personal style.

We also strive to  help artisans from around the world to make a living.  In some countries like Honduras and Mexico it is very important to provide jobs so people can make an honestliving.  By purchasing artisan made products you are supporting workers and their families and strengthening local economies throughout the world.

THE FOUNDER AND CEO

Elizabeth Cambar-Roney (Ellie Cambar) was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.  She wanted to be a designer since an early age.  Her dreams started as a little girl playing with her mother’s clothes and dad’s suits.  At school she was known for her drawings and art. Life took her in a different direction though.  At 17 she moved to the United States to continue her studies.  She atended college in Florida and then moved to Abilene Christian University in Texas. 

After graduating with a degree in Business Administration she taught Spanish for a year at the University.  After one year teaching and six months working in Washington D.C. she moved to Kansas City to obtain a Master’s Degree in International Business and Marketing.

After graduating from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, she obtained a job in International Sales, selling raw material for the Natural Products and Enzyme Industry.  For thirteen years she worked developing sales and traveled around the world meeting people from Argentina to Australia, from South Africa to Dubai.  Elizabeth Cambar also speaks several languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, basic French and basic Arabic.

During this time she also married a gentleman from Kansas City who teaches Spanish and is very fond of the Latin American culture and language.  Sometimes his ideas are also incorporated into final products.

She continued her International Business career with another company where she kept traveling the world and met people from different cultures and lifestyles.  In 2017 she won for her company the Wisconsin’s Governors Export Award for developing business and making the company known around the world.  She increased international business from scratch to 35 countries and increased sales from nearly nothing to millions of dollars.

Traveling around the globe and her International Business career inspired her to design products that bring the world to you.  The products are part of her life experiences and beautiful landscapes seen throughout the world. Many of the products are focused on travel, comfort and organization.
